Kazakhstan Visa/Immigration Services — World Immigration Hub

Here is a list of the most common types of visas that foreigners can get.

Visas for Diplomats (A1, A2)

Heads of foreign states, governments, international organizations, their families, members of parliament, official delegations, honorary consuls, and diplomatic couriers can all get diplomatic visas.

Validity: A single-entry visa is good for up to 90 days. A1 visas that allow multiple entries are good for up to a year, and A2 visas are good for up to 180 days.
Purpose: To go on official visits, diplomatic missions, or as an official representative of another country.

Visas for Service (A3, A4)

Service visas are given to official visitors like members of government delegations, foreign media representatives, foreign servicemen, people on business travels with official passports, astronauts, and others.

Single-entry visas are good for up to 90 days. A4 visas for multiple entries are good for up to a year. A3 visas for cosmonauts and astronauts can be good for up to a year or three years.
Purpose: To do business in Kazakhstan for official, professional, or service-related reasons.

Visas for Investors (A5, A6)

A5 Visa: This visa is given to the heads, deputy heads, or structural unit leaders of investment companies, including international investors who are part of the AIFC investment tax residence program.
A6 Visa: Given to foreign businesspeople who invest more than USD 300,000 in Kazakhstan.
Validity: A5 single-entry visas are good for up to 90 days, while multiple-entry visas are good for up to 5 years. A6 multiple-entry visas are good for up to 10 years.
Important Notes: No interview is needed. Family members have the same visa length, however they can't work or do religious activities unless the legislation allows it.

B1, B2, and B3 Business Visas

People who need business visas are going to conferences, symposiums, exhibitions, concerts, cultural or scientific events, humanitarian work, lectures, training, installing or maintaining equipment, consulting, auditing, negotiating, signing contracts, or working together in an industrial setting.

Validity: B1 and B3 visas are good for up to a year, B2 visas are good for up to 180 days, and single-entry visas are good for up to 90 days.

Visas for Specific Jobs

Visa for International Road Transport (B4): For people who work in international road transport. You can enter once for up to 90 days or more than once for up to a year.
Visa for Crew Members (B5): For crew members of ships, planes, trains, and rivers who don't have ICAO certificates. Up to 90 days for a single entry and up to 1 year for multiple entries.

Visas for Other Purposes

Visa for Religious Activities (B6): For taking part in religious activities that are not missionary. One entry for up to 90 days.
Practical Training/Internship Visa (B7): For family members who want to train, intern, or take part in Astana Hub programs. You can enter once for up to 90 days or more than once for up to 180 days.

Visa for Permanent Residence (B8, B9, B9-1 / Digital Nomad Visa)

B8 Visa: Given to foreigners who want to live in Kazakhstan permanently. Visas for one or more entries are good for up to 90 days.
B9 Visa: For people with in-demand jobs who want to live in the country permanently. Visas for single entry are good for up to 90 days, and visas for multiple admission are good for up to a year.
The B9-1 Digital Nomad Visa is for remote workers who have jobs that are in high demand. Single-entry electronic visas are good for up to a year, while multiple-entry visas are good for up to a year.
Requirements: a petition, proof of schooling, an invitation (for Digital Nomads), a criminal record certificate, bank records, tax returns, and health insurance.

Visas for Families and Individuals

B10 Visa: For private visits, funerals, sick relatives, or going with family members. Single-entry: up to 90 days; multiple-entry: up to 180 days.
B11 Visa: For adopting Kazakh citizens. Single-entry: up to 180 days; multiple-entry: up to 1 year.
The B12 Tourist Visa is for anyone who want to visit the country. Single-entry: up to 90 days; multiple-entry: up to 180 days.
B12-1 Neo Nomad Visa: For people who work from home and have a consistent income from abroad. Visas that let you enter many times are good for up to a year. Family members can join for the same amount of time.
C2 Visa: This is for Kazakh citizens, ethnic Kazakhs, former compatriots, or business immigrants who want to bring their families back together. For a single entrance, you can stay for up to 90 days. For multiple entries, you can stay for up to a year.
C10 Visa: A private tour for ethnic Kazakhs. Single-entry: up to 90 days; multiple-entry: up to 3 years.
For people under 18 years old, the C11 visa is for them. Single entry: up to one year; multiple entry: up to three years.

Visas for Work and Business

C3, C4, C5, and C6 Visas: For people who want to work, start a business, or work as a seasonal worker in a priority field. Single-entry: up to 90 days; multiple-entry: up to 5 years, depending on the category and permit.
Business Visa (B1, B2, B3): For meetings, trade shows, training, consulting, negotiating, or making business investments. One entry: up to 90 days; multiple entries: up to 1 year.
Investor Visas (A5, A6): For business owners and investors who meet certain investment requirements. Visas that let you enter the country many times are good for 5 to 10 years.
Service Visas (A3, A4): For government business, journalists, cosmonauts, and official delegations. Single-entry: up to 90 days; multiple-entry: up to 1–3 years.

Visas for school, humanitarian work, and special needs

C9 Visa: For school, training, or exchange programs. Single-entry: up to 90 days; multiple-entry: up to 1 year.
C7 Visa: For doing missionary work. Single-entry: up to 90 days; multiple-entry: up to 180 days.
C8 Humanitarian Visa: For people who want to help others for free in areas like education, healthcare, or social services.
C12 Treatment Visa: For medical care, exams, consultations, or going with family members. Visas for one or more entries that last up to 180 days.
B13 Transit Visa: For traveling through Kazakhstan on your way to another country. Visas for one or more entries up to 90 days.
B4 Visa: For people who work in international road transport. Single-entry: up to 90 days; multiple-entry: up to 1 year.
B5 Visa: For people who work on ships, planes, trains, and other types of transportation. Single-entry: up to 90 days; multiple-entry: up to 1 year.

Exit Visas

B14–B22 Visas: For people who live in Kazakhstan and are leaving, people who lost their passports, or people who are no longer subject to legal restrictions. Depending on the category, the validity period ranges from 15 to 90 days.
